Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU

Ok my friends from Britain, no much excuse…

At least these discussions are over on Halloween 👻

Finally

I’m pro remain, but the foundation of democracy is accept what the majority want, even if it’s bull crap and the majority are morons don’t forget.

I see it as a good opportunity to wipe the slate clean, what once made Britton Great, is now a weight around our neck (History).

We are small island with little to none world power, We lost our ambition after Concorde, HS2 is a perfect example 250 mph, cutting 20mins off a 200 mile journey, we should be aiming for 500, 600, 700 mph, we should be doing things that makes the world go wtf…

We are.

Well, they are.

The majority of this country would vote to re-introduce capital punishment - should we accept that? Of course not.

That is nonsense, utter locks. Back it up, and not with a Daily Mail article.

Daily Mail? I doubt very much they would be making that argument against it - bizarre suggestion.

In 1995, support dropped below 50% for the first time on record (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-32061822) I would argue that with recent incendiary politics it will be back up again.

My point is not the numbers though - just that democracy always has to be pragmatically elective and not idealistic.

So what part us utter bollocks then?

This capital punishment thing… Does someone at least have to have done something wrong? If not, if I get to choose, I’m all for it.

1995, History…

The fact that you don’t think people will do the right thing when pushed hard enough is a sad truth, Brexit only happened because.

  1. The majority thought it can’t happen, so we will not bother voting.

  2. The older generation are of the opinion (The main voters), we did without the EU before and we were fine.

  3. The younger voters were not engaged.

  4. Nobody knew what they were actually voting for (Morons). I believed the bs.

I’d love another vote, I believe it’d be a stay landslide,
Give people the facts, the truth this time, and they will do the right thing one on one, add in the crowd mentality and who the feck knows.

The public were feed shit, and gobbled it down.

I’ve got money, you’ve got money, people we know have money, why don’t we hold an unofficial referendum, and give the politicians a kick in the arse?

I believe you are wrong, very very wrong.

Since about 2015 “the people” have not been doing as expected, and often when given the choice are doing the opposite of what “they” are telling them to do. Was the vote for brexit a vote to leave the EU? No, most who voted didn’t really know what they were voting for. They just knew that Cameron was telling to vote this way, and they had been ignored by him, his party and the media for long enough, so they voted the other way. The fact that some saw an opportunity to push their own agenda and play into this feeling of being ignore by the MSM and government only compounded this “giving one to the man” mentality.

And so they voted leave.

Roll forward to now, it’s a fucking shitshow. The mental heads are still saying leave leave leave, but even “the people” have worked out their mental heads… BUT… “The establishment” are still saying stay stay stay. And so in a peoples vote, they will once again vote leave, for no other reason than “they” (the sensible “they”) are telling them to vote stay.

In a people vote the thin leave majority will get bigger, not be reversed.

What most failed to understand in 2016 and still fail to understand now, is that when you have taken away everything from the majority, via a steady increase in real world taxes, a steady lowering of living standards, a steady increase the cost of living, an erosion of freedom, dumbing down of the education system, a broken housing market, removal of social accommodation, the list goes on. When you’ve done all that over 40 year period. Then you throw in ten years of self imposed austerity, a widening of the pay gap, lowering of human rights and the cult of celebrity backed up by hours and hours of wall to wall “reality TV” for entertainment which tends to focus on the haves, not the have-nots. You leave the majority “the people” with a sense of nothing to lose.

And when people feel they have nothing to lose they become incredibly unpredictable and more often than not exhibit self-destructive tendencies.

So, brexit shouldn’t be re-voted on, it should just be cancelled. We had a go at leaving the EU, but fucked it up, royally. So it’s time to accept defeat and go back to the status quo, and move on. Maybe have another bash, in another decade or so.

Personally I suspect that is what is going to happen. Only it’s be dressed up to be something different, and/or dragged out over such a long period of time that no one cares any more.

As for Boris. Six months, tops.

Sorry for pushing this post up again. I couldn’t resist 😉

Is POTUS the only one glad about this election?

I am always confused/surprised people doing the same errors over and over again, like re-electing persons “failing” or not telling the truth in the past.

Funny we are discussing politics in a web development app forum 🤣

It actually turns out Boris wasn’t voted PM of the United Kingdom, but a United Kingston.

It is unclear at this time if he’s now PM of Kingston Upon Thames, Kingston, Jamaica or Hull (full name Kingston Upon Hull).

Or, if Ivanka is as stupid as her dad.

That’s only because you will be able to flog loads of cheap chlorinated chicken from your new cheap deal Korean pickup, over the border, and then bring back basic medicines, fresh food, etc., with no border checking. What could possibly go wrong?

Dunno, you could start making sense? That would be very wrong ;-)

As it is, by the time all this shakes out I’ll be long gone to Spain.

As good as that sounds, there is uncertainty that they would let you live in Spain and you would very likely have a high price to pay for medical insurance. If it “shakes out” after you move to Spain they could still kick you out.

A no deal Brexit will take decades to shake out.

Nope, dual nationality.

Medical insurance? Maybe. But as I’ll be running a business there I’m liable to pay into the state system, about €300 a month, which gets me the same rights as a Spanish native in terms of healthcare, plus a fantastic pension (best in the EU) after paying in for 15 years.

I’ve done my research.

I like this game, lets poke Steve some more.

Just be sure to use a big stick.

So you didn’t read the citation that you asked me to provide. It was actually 2015 and so very relevant still. Sloppy :)
