Stacks Pro Update

Yea, of course, someone who is getting their property stolen needs to share everything going on with you and the rest of the world…

@StacksWeaver … so the logical consequence of what you are writing is:

  • anyone attending Joe’s conference will be sworn to silence not to report on any Stacks news

Yea, let’s see how that works. And, even if it does, imagine the amount of goodwill that Isaiah and Stacks Pro will have flushed down the toilet.

On April 4-5 some news is going to be out there anyways. The request is pretty simple … that the news is not shared just to a select few (which has all sorts of implications … none of which are good for Isaiah) but that Isaiah communicates to other folks.

Aren’t we all getting ahead of ourselves?
We don’t know the details yet.
For all we know it could be that the launch webinar (?) is freely accessible to all and Joe is providing the platform.
As I said, I don’t know, just thinking of an alternative.

Happy new year guys! 🥂 😉

Advance ticket sales will arrive very soon… is this a joke? I mean, it’s a joke, right?

Do you know something we don’t?

How does my response about certain aspects of the development process of Stacks Pro being kept quiet have anything to do with the Summit?

That’s not what I was saying or suggesting. I was stating that Isaiah has kept his development process close to his chest, and for good reasons.

I’m sure once it is first showed off at the Stacks Summit it will be shared out to everyone.

I haven’t played with it yet either, but it looks like it has multiple tutorials built in.

There’s also an iPad version — also for $21.

What’s the likelihood @isaiah will develop an iPadOS version of StacksPro?

Let’s first build him the macOS version before we ask for a iPadOS version. IMO, I doubt it will be available for iPad.

Agreed. But is it even being worked on with some concept of a release? It’s still complete and utter radio silence from the dev. Joe has made some noise recently, but in true Joe style, it’s to sell something of his (the conference), as opposed to actual information.

Why can Isaiah not even bring himself to make even a brief public statement? Even just “I’m alive and working on it” would be something.

He is posting his health status in Discord. He is working on Stacks Pro.

Well, that’s something. I’m over 14 years old, so not permitted a Discord account ;-)

With that response you’d probably fit the bill for a Discord account by your own definition.

But alas, a Discord account might not be for everyone I suppose.

I can’t give information that is not mine to give. I put a lot of work into the summit. If you have never joined, you should. It’s a very good weekend. @Jannis will be speaking this year. Adam from Elixir will be attending as well.
