Since the transfer of Chillidog to Exact hosting, my email traffic if broken, emails not arriving etc, and wasting hrs sorting it out.
So I’m pondering ways to route mail from my website, but not through its server.
I came across this on the web and wondered if anyone has tried something similar. But wanted some feedback / advice how to route email traffic with my domain name as the email address., through apple, or gmail for example.

Can’t help with that but I’m leaving Exact hosting because overall they are rubbish. I liked the service Greg gave but I have no loyalty to Exact.
I think I would prefer to change hosting than find a workaround to email issues.
Where did you go for hosting?

I moved one of my domain names over this week and my main one is uploaded and ready for me to change nameservers Sunday night. Email migration tool was easy to use.
I have always been advised by multiple providers never to use included email on websites and for 30 years that has worked - my email is with Microsoft Office 365 (I dislike MS, do not use office applications but email is completely reliable), so at domain level, web hosting is with one provider and email handled by another.
I did briefly try the iCloud domain with custom email, but it was not a great experience and I moved it within months. Apple email filtering is poor and I was forever getting spam etc, something that very rarely happens with MS exchange.

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure how to proceed as I don’t want to use MS, perhaps I’ll dig into gmail and see what they offer.
Proton mail is open source and well respected; private too.
Gmail works but like most things google, it has its haters

Go back to Exact and ask for Jesse Richardson. He’s a systems engineer there, rather than a standard support person. He was able to sort out a technical issue with GoCMS - even jumped on a video call to do it. Not saying they’re a long term solution for you, but he helped me out so it’s worth a go in the short term.
