Exact Hosting email issues

Anyone else having issues with not being able to receive email this week? I used to have chili dog hosting, but it got sold to this new company and I can’t get a response from their support team.

I got this email from them on the 6th, but I know at least one client said they did not receive it.

They migrated servers and there are new mail server settings which are further down the page:

April 6, 2026

Dear xxxxx,

As we continue to move forward with our goal of providing the best web hosting experience, we’d like to let you know that we will be migrating your email, website and webhosting account on bell.chillidoghosting.com.

The migration is scheduled for Wednesday April 8, 2026 between 9AM - 5PM Eastern for the following domain:

xxx.com

We ask that you do not make any changes to your website during this time period.

Maintenance Window Details:

What: Migration of websites and email hosted on bell.chillidoghosting.com

When: Wednesday April 8, 2026 between 9AM - 5PM Eastern

Why: To provide our clients with the fastest and most up-to-date hardware and software available such as Solid State / SSD Drives and Alma Linux 8

Impact: Customers may see old or cached websites for several hours after their web site is migrated.

Note: after the migration, the new server will be called mercury.exacthosting.com and will have the IP Address:

209.59.190.239

Since you are using a DNS Server that we control, we will make this change for you.

On April 8 or later, please use the following settings for your mail client:

Incoming Server: mercury.exacthosting.com Port 993 With SSL for IMAP (995 for POP3)

Outgoing Server: mercury.exacthosting.com Port 465 with SSL

Also: Please continue to log in to Chillidoghosting Client Area with your existing credentials:

I do know they were doing a cutover on 4/9/2026 on my sites.
Sadly I do not have email associated with these accounts, so I cannot answer the question.

You might contact support.

Thank you! This solved the issue. All I needed to do was change to mercury.exacthosting.com . I did finally get ahold of support too. I did not ever get an email telling me they were migrating my email server before this happened.

Glad you got it sorted. Are you using Chillimail? I heard that was causing some issues with some people during the switch to Exact Hosting. I am using the regular included free email hosting, as well as a Fastmail account via DNS records. I was surprised that both are functioning fine after the server change, without doing anything on my end.

The only issue I had was using FTP to upload my website changes. I contacted Exact about it, and they got back to me in a couple hours. The Port number had changed, easy fix.

I must say that my sites pages are loading WAY faster with Exact’s servers than they were with Chillidog. So I am pleased about that.

I’m just using the email that comes with the hosting service. I receive my email through the Mail app on Mac… I do not pay extra for email or any other email clients.

I really struggled with Exact until I discovered Jesse Richardson. He’s a systems engineer there and much more knowledgeable than the standard support staff. He even set up a video call to walk through and solve my issue.

I didn’t see your post, but I posted this two hours ago

I am a Source user, and I presently use Chillidog, acquired by Exact Hosting. RW uploads are successful, but do not appear on the live site, nor is Forms2 forwarding emails…I submitted a support ticket before noon Friday (East Coast US), received an automated response, but the support team has not replied. I sent 3 additional emails…

So I will change the settings for my email client, and see if that works. But my site is not updating, probably because they changed servers.
Have you changed the server settings as well for FTP upload?

More problematic is how they have managed the acquisition, their communication during this period, and that they have not responded to my support ticket in a timely way.

So, I will be looking for new hosting. Joe just posted about Better Site Host being successful in BETA that apparently plays well with RW. Any other ideas are welcome
Thanks for information you posted !!!

Hey, so far all I have done is update the email server address. My websites are working and I haven’t tried to do any website updates in the last week. Should be fun when I need to do that lol i’m sure I will be checking your post in the future to see what your solution was.

My site is also working as well, and publishing is successful, but changes do not appear on the live site; that is, they are not being uploaded to my root directory. I would suggest adding a test word, then publishing with the Chillidog server information. If the word publishes, you are good. If not, then you are in the same boat.

The instructions in the email from Exact Hosting pertained to email clients, not general publishing!
Good luck
