Hi all -
You may or may not be aware but I first started with RapidWeaver and Stacks back in 2017 to create a website for a scorekeeping app that I had created. I got bitten by the Stacks bug and got deep into developing my own stacks, and then of course Source too.
For the last few months though I have been working on a whole new iOS app and it is now released! It is called Anecnote and is an advanced note management app that lets you store and categorise notes of all types (e.g. anecdotes, journal entries, memories, jokes, movie reviews, trivia, facts, quotes etc etc). I am very proud of how it turned out.
I would love for you to give it a download and see how it works for you. It is completely free to download and use (though there are some limits that would require an in-app purchase to unlock).
Check it out (via the Source-built product page 🙂)!

Looks really good! 👍
Question: If/when the MacOS version gets released, will it be a universal app, so if I purchased lifetime, would that carry across to the Mac version?
TIA.

Hi @jacksona - thanks!
Yes - that would be the plan the currently. In the short term I may allow the iPad version to be installable on Mac (on silicon macs) but I need to tidy a couple of bits up first so it would display better.

Just to add a couple of folk have been in touch about a sync issue. Investigating that currently (or at least will be when I get back from Aviemore on Tuesday!).
What a great idea. I have been searching for something like this that works well. Downloading now.

v1.0.1 is with apple for review at the minute. it should hopefully help with the syncing issues.

Well, in the distant past there were discounts for stack & training…
I am hoping there is a way to buy the new App with out a subscription…

Had a play with this - looks very good - lovely clean interface. Desktop version would be the killer!

Don’t want to derail this Trump discussion thread 🤣 but just circling back round to say that the early sync issues now appear to be resolved. Thanks for all the positive feedback - if you can leave a rating / review on the app store it would be most appreciated!
I will now turn my attention to a watchOS and macOS version (as well as a v2 of my scorekeeping app that I paused development on when i came up with the idea for Anecnote!).

Anecdote looks awesome and can be the app I’ve been looking for.
Before I purchase this app I do have 1 question.
If I purchase the lifetime version of Anecdote for iPhone / iPad do I need to buy the macOS version once it’s released or is it part of the same purchase?
Thanks for checking it out.
Don’t have a definitive timeline for the Mac version but plan would be for it to be included in the lifetime or subscription options.

Just bought the lifetime license. I’ve actually been looking for a Notes app to utilize markdown and tagging to easily retrieve specific information instantaneously.
I have been using NoteFile for several years because it syncs instantly between the iOS and macOS versions. The same developer (JuneCloud) also makes a great package-tracking app called Deliveries, but after using Markdown in RapidWeaver, I know the capability exists for something like AnecNote.
2-There’s a great Mac utility called PopClip that I probably use 25-30x/day that AnecNote would dovetail very nicely with.

Just to say that v1.0.3 of Anecnote is available now. With it I have enabled the option to allow the ipad version to be installed on a silicon Mac. It has worked pretty well in my testing.
Also added an example Shortcut (for Shortcuts app) that generates a new note in Anecnote. The demo is to log a movie review but could easily be repurposed for any note type.

Great, I’m using it on my iPhone, iPad and Macbook pro.
I used to have 3 apps, now I only need Anecnote (I deleted the other apps).
Thanks Stuart
