I had to disable FileVault not only for RW but for a couple of other applications as well, mainly related to file servers and cloud services (MountainDuck, kdrive e.g.)
tldr; Elements and Classic are running well. The Stacks plugin also works, although a few stability issues have shown up under macOS 26. Just flagging this so folks know what to expect and can stay in the loop.
I don’t know what’s all behind this. I could edit my projects in RW but publishing did not work as the publishing setup could connect to my FTP server.
Thas same happened with Mountain Duck and Synology Drive: no connection formerly working without any issue could be established (FTP, WebDav e.g.)
After disabling File Vault, everything worked as before.
RapidWeaver 8.x may still run on Tahoe, but it hasn’t been tested and isn’t officially supported. It first launched back in August 2018, so it’s now around 7 years old
If you’re upgrading to macOS Tahoe, we’d recommend moving to RapidWeaver Classic or Elements. Both are tested and supported on the latest macOS, so you’ll get the smoothest and most reliable experience!
