It looks really slick with the background and overlay text and buttons - a convenient solution to control the loading of embedded content and thus the potential tracking of users.
However, eg to display the YouTube background image, doesn’t the browser/user already access YouTube, thus leaves a trace w/o prior user consent ?
OK, after looking through the tutorial I stand corrected: the background images are supplied by the user as a thumbnail, I.e. no 3rd party server access required for this !
Exactly. It was important for me not having one call to the embedded server before user gave his consent. Which also means you need to create your own thumbnail preload image (if you want to use one).
