When each of my Poster category pages is generated, can I add content specific to that category to the page’s top and bottom or in a column stack?

That’s not possible.
Is it something that could be add as a feature down the road?
The php render library I am using doesn’t support this.
You’re able to display content if a category is selected. But not different content based on different categories.
