Poster 2: Triggering 404 for renamed, deleted or non-existent posts

Hi Jannis,

I need your advice regarding Poster 2: I’ve noticed that when a post doesn’t exist—whether it has been renamed, deleted, or the link is simply wrong—Poster 2 displays an empty page instead of leading to the 404 page.

I am running into this issue frequently now that I’m renaming posts to fix the ‘039’ encoding error: the old URLs (e.g., ?post=old-title) remain active but show no content.

Is it possible to make Poster 2 recognize when the ‘post’ parameter in the URL does not match any existing content and automatically trigger a 404 page? This would be the best way to correctly handle renamed, deleted, or moved posts.

Thanks for your help!
