Shout out to Adam / Ex-Elixirgraphics.com

following this topic:

I wondered if Adam from elixirgraphics.com ist completely out of reach. There might be a chance he happens to visit this forum…So, if this is the case I want to address you (Adam) directly - if this quote from your website still sounds familiar to you:

Please know that this decision was not made due to any lack of love for what I was doing or lack of support and encouragement from you all.

…I kindly ask you to consider supporting “your valued customers” as well one last time - a simple download pdf on your website with the content of the online documentation, which we all loved so much, would ease some pain!
Karma will reward you, I´m sure! :)

Unfortunately Helixir has closed and you cannot get support. There are others in the forum with the same problem.

link fixed. thanks for the hint.
yes, I am aware that it´s closed and that there is no official support. and that there a lot of people who wonder about the status quo. that is exactly the point.
… the post is my desperate attempt to encourage Adam to re-think why he decided to cut us off from the hell good documentation he provided with his products.
why is it a problem to generate a pdf and leave it to those who still want to use the products they bought. I simply don´t get it… It wouldn´t cost a thing!
nobody expects ongoing support. but the documentation that existed, and I guess still exists, would be at least “something” in order to look up certain information by ourselves.
it’s pretty ignorant towards the people who enabled him to make a living from his work for quiet a few years.

as said: I am desperate and a little bit mad about the entire situation. Sometimes It´s healthy to speak it out loud.

Have you tried using Wayback Machine? https://archive.org/

I’ve used it in the past to look up support pages for stacks that I purchased but were no longer supported. It can be hit or miss, but I went back years and was able to scrounge up some helpful info. I expect you’ll have better luck because his site hasn’t been down very long.

Also, I know his site is gone but he did have videos on YouTube. I haven’t checked but they might still be there.

Hope that helps!

Yes, I know this page but it is far Form bring Perfect. Nonetheless: thanks for your Suggestion as it is the only source that is left.
On YouTube I could only find this abandoned House:

Glad you knew about that. I feel pretty burned too, but I can’t put myself in his shoes, and he seemed like a pretty upstanding guy, so I accept that he has some reasons that make sense to him.

I got a bit of a sick feeling reading all the praise for Adam from the creator of stacks after Adam announced his departure. While I can never know everything, it certainly seems that if there were more communication from the Stacks people it would have made the entire Stacks community a calmer place during all of this. Even if there’s nothing that can really be said in terms of progress, it would let us know that he’s still here. Being incommunicado for giant stretches of time evaporated the trust and faith I had in the product. It doesn’t take a lot of time se wake out a few sentences every couple of weeks in relevant places and the rewards are a community on your side - one that has your back as opposed to questioning if you’re still around and will be in the future.

We each fill in the silence with something, if someone is relying on stacks for their primary income, Those gaps might be filled with something bordering on horrible.
