Stacks 6 for RWC?

Is there going to be stacks 6 for RWC?

No. It will only be available as standalone app.

So…. What does that mean for RWC?
No development?
it’s frozen?

I didn’t realize this… I’m was still buying RWC stacks plugins… I thought RWC development was going to go on for years?

Wow 😮
I don’t like the licensing of Elements and parts - lm having a hard time understanding…

I have 10 or so websites and I like the simplicity of RWC - since the beginning… command + to increase text size command - to reduce text size and all of the other usage features I’m used to…

I’m a little shocked … I thought RWC was going to be around and made current for decades to come…

I didn’t know the split was so severe…

You can use RWC with Stacks 5 plugin for the foreseeable future.

Yes but all the cool new stacks?

New development?

Cut off at version five is limiting future products…

Makes one think that I’m in a dead end position :(

There is nothing to worry about. You will be able to use your stacks that you have purchased in Stacks 6. You won’t need RW anymore. This has been in the making for years now. I did a live stream today with a tour of the current version of Stacks 6 and did a live Q&A.

This FAQ will help answer some concerns.

Here is the live stream that I did today…

I recommend that you join my email list. I send out links to my live streams and send out summaries of what is going on in the Stacks community.

I guess it comes down to cost now…

What is the cost of stacks 6?

What are the licensing options?
(can I make as many sites as I want under the license commercial sites also)

How long is the license active?

Any idea on the upgrade fee for the next version of stacks?

I won’t hold you to it :-) just trying to make a comparison so I can figure out where I’m going….

I have one commercial website and the rest are personal… under elements. I would need to pay $200 plus a year for the the commercial license

Isaiah has confirmed that Stacks 6 will be available as a one-time purchase. There will also be upgrade pricing for existing customers. I have zero idea how much that will be though.

I highly doubt there will be any restrictions on number of sites made. I cannot fathom that happening.
