Without wanting to start a fight... Any news on Stacks pro?

I know this is a topic that tends to cause arguments nowadays. So, wanting to avoid all that, I’m just wondering if there is any news on Stacks Pro?

The last I recall hearing was around the middle of last year, when a new beta was meant to be released by the end of the year. Did that happen?

Quite a lot of interesting info from Joe’s video…

I was there for the livestream & there was lots of great info, but I did have to leave early.
Did they go over why StacksPro Beta 10 was never updated over these last 11 months?

I got to watch the first 15mins of it. Looks good, but has anyone got an overview? I really can’t sit through 90 minutes of video.

I thought you have some time to relax now.

I always watch YT videos in 2x speed.

I wish. You can still work, even when in pain and stuck in bed!

:-)

I sort of skipped through but it seemed like the big highlights were:

  • Layouts is the new big feature (sort of an amped version of partials)
  • Nearly all stacks should be compatible - even Foundry should work with the default theme (though the stacks will be unsupported, obviously)
  • Will look very familiar (some settings moved around)
  • It should have some big speed enhancements
  • Targeting the Summit for this new beta release, i think

Like I said, I only skimmed the video so I’m sure I missed a bunch of stuff…

Pretty decent bullet summary. I spent a bit of time also talking about project migration, since that will be a big topic.

I know lengthy videos are not for everyone. But there isn’t any fluff in there. There were a lot of questions to answer and I wanted to make sure that I got to all of them.

Looks like it‘s shaping up to be a very nice app.

Hi all,

I’m not a RapidWeaver user these days but read this forum a lot still & massively invested in Blocs6 (the best version ever of blocs) - but saw this topic is about stackspro.

I’m interested in web design as a whole so just seeing when a date of this is? And will this run away from RapidWeaver and be its own builder?

All this new RapidWeaver / stacks pro development on a time frame seems to be at a snails pace.

Thanks all!

Thanks for doing this Joe. I am mighty relieved to see some progress on Stacks Pro, I have too much time invested in my sites now and I can’t wait to be able to move forwards.
