Mac OS Tahoe and CLASSIC

Tahoe was tested. However, there are to many variables to replicate the situation of every possible user. You might have different hardware than someone else so that crash might only ever happen on your Mac.

If you would like to send Isaiah crash reports, I am sure he would appreciate them. The crash reporter tool that you submit does not go to him. Send them over to support@yourhead.com

  • Open up Console.app.,
  • Find RapidWeaver and this crash,
  • Right Click and choose Reveal in Finder.

Just saying from a note from the guy that created Blocs:

"Blocs V6 is recommend for macOS Tahoe, you may encounter problems with older versions of Blocs when running them on the new OS.

They will launch, but we are no longer actively patching them for OS level changes."

So, Blocs requires upgrading to V6 and doesn’t support older versions anymore…

For the last four version release of MacOS, I simply wait till the third major update.
Somewhere between 3-4 months after the first release.

Things that can push up my time table will be Apps that I rely on for work.
I have been working around this limitation by using Linux & Windows.

With MacOS 26 I am still working out how will I backup my files.

Works though. V6 has been out ages so not surprised he only tested on the latest version.

He is already close to roll out a beta for fixing these crashes. He also asks for testers which are experienced the crashes.
More info in his discord channel.

Update: fix will be rolled out very soon.

I suggested earlier that it was worth waiting a few weeks before moving to major MacOs versions. I think recent posts confirm this: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/1njsf6w/to_all_who_think_this_tahoe_rage_is_an/

Its still tardy not to have your software ready for a major release.

But Stacks 6 is still in beta, whereas Tahoe is supposedly not.

But it’s stacks 5 that is crashing?

Not on Sequoia it’s not. For ages I have declined to upgrade until at least .1 of any OS. Once again Apple has proven me right.

Sorry, I was getting confused. Anyway, I’m really glad I didn’t install Tahoe. Apple with its vast resources is putting out very buggy software and you criticise Isaiah for not fixing a problem which never existed before Tahoe while he’s also trying to finish Stacks 6. Seems a bit unfair to me.

I know that. That’s why I was asking about Tahoe on this thread.

I can only get an update to stacks from Isaiah so I don’t think it unreasonable to expect him to fix it.

This weekend I worked on a website on both my Apple Mac computers (MacBook Pro M3 Pro and Mac Studio M1). Both Macs are updated to macOS Tahoe 26.
RapidWeaver (version 8.9.4) and Stacks (5.3.1) worked fine. No crashes at all.

I think I’ll wait to see what bugs are still left in Tahoe 26.1.

Hejsan, I have no problem at all. Everything works smoothly. No crashes, actually, I have not had any crashes for quite a while now.

Tahoe and classic?

Classic, and both Tahoe and Sequia, actually, as I said, I haven’t really had any notable crashes for quite some time. And I have a lot of stacks.

Good to know. I might try it next week. I’ve been playing about with Blocs this week and quite liking it.
